Tyler Baker grew up in Central Iowa and spent years in residential construction before starting anything of his own.
What he kept seeing in that time was not bad work. It was homeowners who could not get a straight answer. Calls that went unreturned. Estimates that moved. Projects that stalled with a house torn open and no one willing to say what happened next.
He started Tyler’s Renovations to provide the reliability he would want for his own family. That is the whole premise, and it is why the business is deliberately owner-led: the person who plans your project is the person who shows up, and the person who answers the phone about it.
Today the work is focused on four things — bathrooms, basements, kitchens, and whole homes — for homeowners across Des Moines and the surrounding metro. Focused by choice. Doing a narrow range of interior remodeling properly is a different business from doing everything adequately.
Do the job right, avoid shortcuts, treat each home with care, keep the job site clean, and communicate clearly throughout the project.
